Catching up.... again....

Life's hectic at the moment. I spend very little time in front of my PC. Anyhoo....

This first pic was taken just before sunset tonight. I actually wanted to capture the silver lining, but the rays of the sun were just amazing.

Netball season started. Currently, they're only playing friendlies. The league starts after school holidays.

Saying a little prayer as a team before the match.
Nerine in action on Saturday.

All the Gr. 7's had to go on a school outing. They chose action cricket. Once again, Nerine in action.

We had a praying mantis in the bathroom on Sunday. I love them!
I'm totally clueless when it comes to gardening and plants. I buy whatever looks pretty. My MIL taught me to go to a nursery once a month and see which shrubs are in bloom. That way, you'll always have colour in your garden. Our garden is huge, so shrubs it is with some seedlings and flowers here and there.

This I just call a powder brush. It's supposed to predict rain.
These are berries that grows in my neighbour's garden, right next to the boundary wall. This time of year, the tree is covered in these red berries. The fall off at an alarming rate and form a carpet of red beneath the tree.

One of my favourite lilies. This was taken at sunset one evening last week. I loved the shadows.

And that's it for now. I have to catch up on other Photo a day bloggers' blogs.

This week...

This was the beautiful full moon tonight. The she-wolf in my feels it hehehe!

I've had a hectic week. The school is 50 years old this year and this week was the start of the celebrations. On Friday we had a festival at school. Kids had to sell raffle tickets and could win a flip in a helicopter. Lucky Nerine was one of them. She loved it!

We also had a 40th birthday party. This is my friend Wanda with me. Late at night.....

Andrew and his cousin Abigajil adore each other. The partied until the wee hours of the morning.

That's all for now. I'll update more tomorrow.

Bad blogger!!!

I've been a bad blogger!!! I've just been so busy the past week. But, here are a couple of pics to make up.

Nerine, taken at the karting track. My very own little pit pony ;-)

It was Andrew's birthday on Sunday (Valentine's Day). I really can't believe my baby is 9 years old already. He didn't have his usual big party this year as he wanted an animal party again and we've had each and every single entertainer with animals for previous birthday parties already. It was low key with just the family.

A busy bee in a moonflower.

White moonflowers. I'm sure it's not the correct name for them, but I know didly squat about flowers. My MIL was a fundi and that's what she told me they were. They bloom once a month (supposedly during full moon) and they smell heavenly!

The pink moonflower.

I love pretty sunsets. This one was so pretty. Behind me, a storm was brewing with dark grey clouds.

A pretty pink rose from my garden.
That's it for today.

2 days in 1...

My husband's favourite passtime. Boys & their toys. As they get older, the toys just get more & more expensive.

Now you see it, now you don't! It always amazes me how far these hadidas stick their beaks into the ground.

Traffic...

The kids & I went through to Vereeniging today to watch the husband race karts. There was a terrible accident on the usually quiet R59. This is what we were faced with today. We sat there for 45 minutes. Some people made a u-turn across the middleman, but I'm just too scared to do it. People got out & walked around. It was a totally new experience for my kids. Fun & games! I hope the occupants of the car that rolled are OK. The wreck looked terrible. DH was just ahead of us & he told us that there were some kids involved too. So sad.

City of lakes...

Benoni is known as the City of Lakes. We really do have a few around. It is just such a pity that most of them are covered in hyacinths. Most of the lakes look like lush green parks. The metro also doesn't seem too interested in getting rid of this invader!
